Core Problem
Context
- Rural farmers do not have the capital to pay upfront for basic farm inputs, such as fertilizer and seeds. Tieme Ndo helps them by purchasing, storing, and delivering improved basic farm inputs to rural farmers on credit in a regular and timely manner, working closely with individual farmers to help them become independent agripreneurs.
Problem
- Tieme Ndo's current administrative tools and processes are not up to the task of tracking the loans made out to farmers, seed inventory, and their organizational relationships with retailers, farmers, and partners. In short tracking and management of their KPIs.
Problem Side Effects
Loans
- Tieme Ndo loses track of outstanding loans.
- Missed payments do not get followed up on.
- End-Result: This eventually results in lower revenues, missed payments, and an inability to serve farmers going forward.
Inventory
- Paper inventory records get lost or aren't updated regularly
- Exact number of seeds in inventory is unknown.
- End-Result: Tieme Ndo inadvertently buys either too many or too few seeds, leading to farmers being unable to take out loans due to reduced supply or having excess inventory.
Customer Relationships
- Leads for prospective partners and clients are not followed up on
- Tieme Ndo uses paper records and forms to register farmers with the company
- Client and partner contact information gets lost as it's paper based right now
